Stumps Bar: for a very good innings
Over the wood-panelled bar with its traditional brass rail is a series of stained-glass images of bats, balls and caps set against a vibrant lawn-green in honour of the sport from which Stumps takes its name. Elsewhere, there are framed posters of classic 19th-century test matches and other cricketing paraphernalia. With a history dating back before the war, Stumps attracts a loyal band of locals, not least for the three television screens showing football from two Sky boxes. Karaoke is popular once a month and there are charity nights through the year, but above all, this is a place for friends to meet and - as you'll see from the posters - to arrange their golfing trips and Blackpool holidays.
